I never even paid attention to what it cost... just went in. healed till my energy zeroed out and then shouted out to my clan for help - then healed some more as I got more energy till it was done. Worst thing: Slow progression - not moving forward ie levels - but the time I am waiting on things to get done - it takes maybe 10-15 minutes to reset my gardens - do my dragons - start some potions - run thru my frien...

Having the same issue. It's getting better slowly but still sooooo annoying. Deleting cookies, history etc. helped with some of the lag (the clan chat box, for instance) but didn't help in the gardens at all. I switched over to playing in Firefox for now - it's working fine.
