Purchased Plants Missing From Inventory

Has anyone had a problem with plants disappearing directly from inventory? I purchased 20 golden swirl plants yesterday and 20 more today. I haven't done anything with them, haven't planted them or used them in potions, yet my inventory shows only 18 plants, less than I had yesterday. I have had no other problems with plants disappearing from gardens, etc, as others have. Any ideas?
