I currently have 3 Gold Twine, and 2/10 puzzle pieces toward a 4th. I want to exchange my universal puzzle pieces to finish that 4th plant so I can convert them to pyria, but the only option it gives me is to plant the ones I have. I don't want to plant them as gold, but want to wait until I have the pyria. Is this possible? If not, it really should be.

I agree 100 % with Cikala. OR am I doing it wrong?

I had the same issue when I was upgrading my gold plants too. I ended up just planting the gold plants and then exchanging the remainder puzzle pieces I needed for the 4th plant. Then I canceled the gold plants to put them back in my inventory and then I was able to exchange them for the pyria plant. If there is an easier way to do this I would love to hear about it too.

there is no easier way to do it ...
we are forced to plant the golden plants first, then we must put them back into our inventory (at the first harvest) only then we can turn them into pyria.

Thank you for the clarification Esethielle. It just seems like an awkward way for us to do it. At least we all know there is no other option.

I learn something new everyday. Life gets boring if you stop learning.
