CLAN EVENT UPDATE

I am confused about the update information.

Dear players,
for fairness reasons the rules for the registration to the clan-event have been modified a bit. After the start there is now a maximum of 4 additional players to prevent stronger unbalances between 2 clans playing together.
the clans are not competing against each other, therefore the phrase "to prevent stronger unbalances between 2 clans playing together" is a moot point. The clans play together, as a team, to "defeat the shadow" that affected one player from each of the clans. every time a goal is reached, and it is reached by both clans contributing, both clans benefit the same. The clans are not even competing against OTHER clan teams, so what is the meaning behind this part of the update? it makes no sense whatsoever.
