But opening up the 6 to a 0 works too

move the vertical match on the plus sign to the 6 making it an 8, then you have 8-4=4

or you can move the lower left match on the 6 to the upper part of the 4 on the other side of the equal sign and make it a nine so you will have 5+4=9
