i would have to go with PANGAEA..... all the continents fit together prior to them being where they are now. it was not only it's own continent, like Australia, but it was completely surrounded by all the oceans, making it a super island. here is some info


Pangaea or Pangea was a supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. It assembled from earlier continental units approximately 335 million years ago, and it began to break apart about 175 million years ago.

had to do some research on this one. Australia was discovered in 1770 by the Europeans so the largest island before that is

And yes Australia is technically a continent.

Even if Australia was not yet discovered, it is the largest island/continent. U did not say "considered the biggest island", that little change would have made a difference.

Since some confuse island and continent, we will do the same, so the largest island in the world is Asia and it was discovered widely before Australia Image :lol:
