umpf.... öh this will take some time to think about
next number is 73 and it is a maze + 2

this is making my brain hurt. it's way to early for a math problem(started thinking on this at 7:00am est). back with the answer. okay after 2 cups of coffee and trying every possible combination it dawned on me that it is not row by row or column by column. so this is what i came up with:

add 2 but to the following numbers: 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 51, 53, 55, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71.. this was a good one. my kid is going to try to figure it out. lol

the sequence of the numbers is +2

23-25-27-29-31-33-35-37-39-41-43-45-47-49-51-53-55-57-59-61-63-65-67-69-71

So at least I think so, if it's right .........?

I think it is add/plus 2. My eldest son is over and to be honest this is his answer.

very clever. i could not figure out why the lower numbers were there. i will not post an answer because i did not know this one even tho i racked my brain, but i had to come back to see if someone could get it. i love puzzles. all those who got the answer on their own deserve their prize. nicely done!!
