What is BBCode?
BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. Whether you can use BBCode is determined by the administrator. You can also disable it on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML: tags are enclosed in square braces [ and ] rather than < and > and it offers greater control over what and how something is displayed. For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.
Where is this link that will give me more information about BBCode?
Any time you click on NewTopic, PostReply, or Quote your will be taken to the "Post a new topic" or the "Post a reply" window. Under the large box where you are supposed to insert the Message body text you will see a section labeled "Options". This section will, among other things, tell you if BBCode is turned on or off and the text "BBCode" should be a clickable link. If you click on that link, it will give you additional information about how to use BBCode to enhance your posts.
But I don't want to wade through all that text and it's confusing too!
At the very top of the Message body window are two rows of BBCode options which are available for use if BBCode is turned on. You may use them in at least two different ways. Using the first option, BOLD, as an example:
Method #1:
1. Click on the B button to turn BOLD text on.
2. Type in the text you wish to be bolded.
3. Click on the B button to turn BOLD text off.
Method #2:
1. Type all the text you wish to enter.
2. When finished, go back and highlight only those portions you wish to be bolded.
3. Click on the B button to add the BOLD tags to the highlighted text to make it appear in BOLD when displayed.
