Never hang a horse shoe with the opening down, your luck will run out.
Avoid walking under a ladder (that one makes sense, since stuff could fall off the ladder and hit you)
Four-leaf clovers should bring luck. (I find lots of them, but give them away, I also find 5 or 6 leaf clovers)
Friday 13th event. (an extra surprise)

Breaking a mirror is worth Seven Years bad luck so try to avoid that.
Sweeping your feet or getting your feet swept is bad luck so spit on the broom to stave it off.
If the Palm of your Left hand itches scratch it because it foretells bad luck. If the Palm of your Right hand itches DON'T SCRATCH it because it foretells a gain. If the itch becomes unbearable then rub it against something to ease the itch.
Don't put your shoes on the bed, it is believed to cause the death of a family member.
^_^ There are a few of my favorite superstitions. ^_^ Sorry it was more than three though. >.<

curses like chickens come home to roost (or 'an undeserved curse cannot alight' -- bad luck for the one who curses indiscriminately).
Carrying the bride over the threshold keeps out bad spirits, and bad luck for the new home
If you break a bottle of oil, it's three years bad luck (if I remember that correctly).

4-leaf clover is god luck
A horse shoe hung so it catches & holds the luck
A penny in a jar to bring prosperity
Others:
Your foot itches you'll walk a mile
Your ear itches, someone is talking about you
Wishing on a star (1st star or a shooting star)
Wishing on a blown dandelion
I have plenty

Williawc, calls out, "Where are you??!!
Nita1 whispers, "I'm in the garden...with Dragons"

Throw a pinch of spilled salt over your left shoulder with your right hand to ward off evil !!
Link little fingers with someone if you both say the same thing at the same time.
Touch wood if you say something that you don't want to happen.
Don't walk under a ladder.
Always put money in a purse when giving as a gift.
If Black cats crossing my path bring bad luck then I am doomed for the rest of my life as mine do it all the time !!! ( This could explain a lot !!!! lol )

Some people think that just speaking of something bad is bad luck and knocking on wood will help avoid it.
Walking under ladders is said to be bad luck, but I think that is because they can fall on you!
Spilling salt is supposed to be bad luck and you throw some over your shoulder to ward it off.
